Noise measurements
Independent noise measurement experts
There are two main ways to assess the impact of noise. The first one is to measure the noise when it already exists. The second one is to model it when noise is just predictable. In case of many sources of noise - when analyzing the noise generated in one or more industrial or service companies or the noise of transport, we often measure part of the noise sources (if there are no reliable data on the equipment's type plate provided by the supplier or manufacturer). Afterwards, we model the possible noise effects using the actual researched data and nominal data.
The Environmental Research Laboratory is accredited for the following measurements:
We
measure from infrasound to ultrasound
We perform measurements in various locations: :
Noise measurements at the workplace are performed for the purpose of:
- assessing the impact (risk) of physical factors when planning and organizing activities
- developing and installing workplaces
- developing new technological processes and modifying existing ones
- selecting or replacing equipment, work tools or materials
- recruiting staff
- changing a company's structure or when restructuring a company
- investigating complaints of noise impact
Noise measurements of railway transport are performed for the purpose of:
- acoustic planning
- assessing the impact of railway transport on planned or already existing facilities
- land-use planning
- planning traffic flows
- establishing noise limitation zones
- investigating complaints of noise impact
Noise measurements in industrial facilities are performed for the purpose of:
- planning and organizing activities
- investigating complaints of noise impact
- obtaining emission permits (EP)
- obtaining Integrated pollution prevention and control (IPPC) permits
- preparing mandatory environmental impact assessment selection documents
- environmental impact assessment (EIA)
- public health impact assessment (PHIA)
- establishing or adjusting a sanitary protection zone (SPA)
- selecting noise reduction measures or determining their effectiveness
Road traffic noise measurements are performed for the purpose of:
- acoustic planning
- assessing the impact of road transport on planned or already existing facilities
- land-use planning
- planning traffic flows
- establishing noise limitation zones
- investigating complaints of noise impact
Aircraft noise measurements are performed for the purpose of:
- acoustic planning
- assessing the impact of air transport on planned or already existing facilities
- land-use planning
- establishing noise limitation zones
- investigating complaints of noise impact
- establishing or adjusting an airport's noise protection zone
Modelling is performed for the purpose of:
- planning and organizing activities
- investigating complaints of noise impact
- obtaining emission permits (EP)
- obtaining Integrated pollution prevention and control (IPPC) permits
- preparing mandatory environmental impact assessment selection documents
- environmental impact assessment (EIA)
- public health impact assessment (PHIA)
